Client Criteria

  1. A referral is required for an assessment. The following are examples of referral sources: Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, Akron Parole Authority, Children Service Board
  2. A comprehensive assessment (assessment will take approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours)
  3. All eligible clients must meet with a ATR Behefit Coordinator prior to beginning services (if applicable).
  4. Client orientation is required (approximately 1 hour)

Classes Offered

  1. Alternative Anger Management- During this class, client will be engaged in understanding the impact of anger, negative consequences and healthy ways to cope with anger.
  2. Career Services- This program will help in the development of job related skills. We will cover job search techniques, cover letters, resume writing, and other important aspects of the job interview process. Clients will also be assessed on computer skills and will be given a typing test.
  3. Living Skills- Group or individual sessions to assist the person with daily living skills that are necessary to everyday life.
  4. Parenting 101- This class focuses on good parenting versus responsible parenting and punishment versus natural and logical consequences.
  5. New Road to Recovery- Clients will participate in group sessions or individual sessions with a focus on alcohol and drug education and the recovery process.
